The Disruptors TV Writing Fellowship
The Disruptors Fellowship is a prominent screenwriting program created by The Center for Cultural Power that empowers emerging television writers of color who identify as trans, gender nonbinary, undocumented/formerly undocumented, or disabled. Fellows participate in a mock writers' room and receive a $3,000 stipend. The Disruptors Fellowship aims to disrupt the status quo in Hollywood and uplift and normalize narratives that have historically been underrepresented on television. For Disruptors 2026, we've restructured our program.
Key Program Features & Mentorship
The Writers' Room Experience: Selected fellows join a virtual or hybrid mentorship program designed to simulate a real TV writer's room, helping them hone their scripts and industry skills.
Public Workshops: The program has evolved to also offer free monthly public TV writing workshops open to creatives anywhere in the country.
Mentorship & Networking: The program connects emerging writers with working, industry-recognized showrunners and TV writers.
