Community Guidelines

Kitfo is built for creative professionals — writers, directors, producers, actors, and the teams that support them. These guidelines exist to keep the platform a space where real work can happen: where scripts are shared safely, opportunities are posted in good faith, and professional reputations are built on merit.

These guidelines apply to all content and behaviour on Kitfo, including Takes, Waves, profiles, direct messages, documents, casting calls, and comments. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination depending on severity.

Allowed:

• Original work — scripts, screenplays, treatments, portfolio pieces, showreels
• Professional updates, industry news, and creative announcements
• Constructive feedback, professional critique, and industry discussion
• Legitimate casting calls, job postings, and collaboration requests
• Personal expression within the bounds of professional decorum

Not allowed:

• Harassment, threats, or targeted abuse of any individual or group
• Hate speech — content that dehumanises people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
• Spam, unsolicited promotion, or repetitive posting designed to game visibility
• Misinformation that could cause real-world harm or damage someone's professional reputation without factual basis
• Sexual content involving minors under any circumstances
• Explicit adult content unless expressly permitted by your account tier and clearly marked
• Content that violates applicable law, including copyright, defamation, or privacy law

Takes are your posts — thoughts, updates, links, media. Waves are events, announcements, and moments you want to amplify. Both are subject to the content standards above.

Posting as an alias (e.g., posting on behalf of a studio or production company) is supported for verified accounts. You remain personally responsible for all content posted under aliases associated with your account.

Do not post content that you do not have the right to share. If you are sharing someone else's work, ensure you have their permission or are operating within fair use.

Anonymous Takes: Certain areas of the platform support pseudonymous posting. When you post anonymously, your identity is hidden from other users but remains associated with your account in our systems. Anonymous posting is not a shield:

• These guidelines apply in full to anonymous content
• We can and will action anonymous posts that violate these guidelines
• We may disclose your identity to law enforcement or in response to valid legal process
• Repeated misuse of anonymous posting to harass, defame, or abuse others will result in account termination

The document and script sharing features are designed for professional collaboration. When you share a script or document on Kitfo:

• You retain ownership of your work — sharing it does not transfer any rights
• You are responsible for controlling who has access via the access settings you configure
• Do not upload material you do not own or have authorisation to share
• You may require viewers to sign a confidentiality agreement before accessing your content. Kitfo records every acceptance with the signer's name, IP address, and timestamp as a neutral third party — creating a legally admissible record you can reference if needed
• The NDA agreement is between you and the viewer. Kitfo facilitates the record but is not a party to the agreement. Enforcing it in a legal proceeding is your responsibility as the content owner

Casting calls, auditions, and job postings listed on Kitfo must be legitimate, non-deceptive, and comply with applicable employment and casting laws.

• Do not post fraudulent, misleading, or predatory casting notices
• Do not request payment from talent in exchange for audition opportunities
• Do not collect sensitive personal data (e.g., passport numbers, bank details) through the platform
• Opportunities must be for real productions, projects, or roles — no placeholder or test postings in the public feed
• Treat all respondents professionally and in good faith

We reserve the right to remove postings that appear exploitative or fraudulent and to report egregious violations to relevant authorities.

Your Kitfo profile is your professional identity on the platform.

• Use your real identity or your established professional name — do not impersonate another person or organisation
• Do not create multiple accounts to circumvent bans or posting restrictions
• Username squatting (reserving names you have no legitimate claim to) is prohibited
• Verified credits and credentials should be accurate — misrepresenting your work history undermines trust for the whole community

The entertainment industry has professional norms that we expect members to uphold:

• Confidentiality: Respect NDAs and confidentiality agreements you have signed — whether off-platform or through Kitfo's built-in NDA feature. Do not leak unannounced projects, unreleased scripts, or casting decisions you are privy to professionally. Signing a Kitfo NDA to access someone's content and then disclosing or distributing that content is a violation of these guidelines and of the agreement itself.
• Credit: Acknowledge collaborators. Do not claim sole credit for work that was a team effort.
• Representation: If you represent talent or productions, do not engage in practices that would be considered unethical under guild or union standards applicable to you.
• No pay-to-audition: Requesting payment from actors, writers, or crew in exchange for audition or submission access is prohibited.

If you see content that violates these guidelines, use the report function on the post, profile, or document. Our moderation team reviews reports and takes appropriate action.

How we handle violations:

• Minor violations — content removal and a notice to the account holder
• Repeated or serious violations — temporary suspension
• Severe violations (threats, CSAM, large-scale fraud) — immediate permanent termination and, where legally required, reporting to law enforcement

Moderation decisions are made by humans. We aim to be consistent, but context matters and we consider it.

If you believe your content was removed or your account was actioned in error, you may appeal by emailing moderation@kitfo.co with “Appeal” in the subject line and a description of why you believe the action was incorrect.

We will review appeals within 5 business days. Our decision on appeal is final.

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by platform notice. Continued use of Kitfo after changes constitutes acceptance.
